Force on Force: High-Impact Home Defense Class (Spokane, WA)

What is Force on Force: High-Impact Home Defense Class?

You passed the driver’s test years ago—yet you still wear a seat belt and practice emergency stops because highways are unpredictable. Shooting tight groups at the range is the same: it proves you can steer the gun, not that you can navigate the on‑ramp chaos of a 3 a.m. home invasion.

High‑Impact Home Defense is the equivalent of a high‑speed skid‑pad for gun owners. Over two intense days, you’ll run force‑on‑force scenarios with real pistols, converted to fire non‑lethal marking rounds against live role‑players. The result: real consequences, real adrenaline, and a crystal‑clear view of what works when the pavement turns slick.

Note: As we are a traveling training company, the highlight video may not reflect the actual venue, but it will be similar.

What You’ll Experience

  • Full‑spectrum scenarios – light and no/low-light problems that mirror hallway angles, doorways, and family‑member “no‑shoots.”
  • Physiological stress inoculation – heart‑rate spikes, tunnel vision, auditory exclusion—then coached recovery so your decision‑making stays online.
  • Split‑second force decisions – shoot / no‑shoot judgment calls, verbal commands, and after‑action debriefs that hard‑wire correct responses.
  • Personal performance audit – Personal instructor feedback pinpoints exactly where your plan holds or folds.

Is This Course for You?

If your plan stops at “I’ll grab the gun,” this class is the mandatory next step. Expect to think, move, and communicate under pressure—then leave with a blueprint to protect everyone under your roof.

Force‑on‑force is widely regarded as the most valuable training a civilian defender can undertake. Reserve your slot before the light turns green.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this class designed for?

This reality-based class revolves around home defense. It is ideal for students who have little to no experience with Force on Force; however, because of the dynamic and unique nature of force-on-force scenarios, the class is still extremely valuable for those with a lot of experience.

How much does the class cost?

(We will provide all non-lethal ammunition, non-lethal firearms, and headgear (you may bring your own if you'd like.)

  • Standard: $750

What topics are covered?

  • Real-world safety
  • Weapon handling in the home
  • Introduction and familiarization with non-lethal weapon systems
  • Pre-force planning
  • Stress effects on the body/operating under stress
  • Threat anatomy
  • Shot placement and the reality of “stopping power.”
  • Low light shooting
  • Close quarters shooting
  • Defensive and offensive movement
  • Threat avoidance
  • Use-of-force decision-making (shoot/don’t shoot)
  • Considerations for after a use-of-force and contact with law enforcement

What are the class’s gear requirements?

  • NOTE: We will provide all non-lethal pistols, non-lethal ammunition, and holsters if/when required for a scenario. We will also provide head gear but you may use your own if you desire.
  • Concealed carry gun belt in case you need to use a holster.
  • Force on Force Equipment:
    • A long-sleeved shirt, pants, groin protection, and neck gator/scarf/balaclava are mandatory as a minimum for Force on Force scenarios.
    • Cover garment (thick, oversized sweater or jacket to help absorb the impact of non-lethal ammunition–only worn for scenario training). It’s a good idea to bring layers as you determine your own comfort level and adjust accordingly.
    • Tactical/padded gloves that allow you to manipulate your weapon while providing a level of protection against non-lethal ammunition. Many people get shot in their hands, so padded gloves are important.
  • Comfortable shoes. For most of the day, we will be on our feet.
  • Drinks and food.

Does Force on Force hurt?

Force on Force training with qualified instructors is very safe. However, non-lethal ammunition can hurt, especially upon impact on bare skin or thin clothing. The feel of the sting can be mitigated by wearing thicker clothing such as a heavy sweatshirt or jacket, as well as a scarf or high-collared shirt/turtleneck; but refrain from wearing body armor or too many layers. Force on Force training is SUPPOSED to sting. Pain is a very good teacher.

Will I be shot during the scenario training?

Yes, all participants of the class must agree to role-play as both defenders and aggressors. You may wear thicker clothing/layers to mitigate the feel of the non-lethal ammunition and a full-face mask, and gloves must be worn to reduce the chance of injury.

Can anyone attend the class?

No prior force-on-force experience is necessary, but because of the realistic nature of the class, this is an advanced class for those serious about defending themselves. Students must know how to operate and manipulate a semi-automatic pistol safely.

Please contact us at info@tacticalhyve.com for questions regarding qualifications.

Students must be at least 21 years old (or 18 and older accompanied by a guardian) and due to the Department of State ITAR regulations, tactical training is only available to US Citizens/Legal Residents.
