Course Description

The Close Quarters Marksmanship Course is a 3-day course designed to improve the Individual officer's abilities in regards to dynamic shooting accuracy and CQM in a high threat/ critical response environment. This course will be taught from a train-the-trainer perspective, allowing each student to keep their skills current throughout their career.

After taking the Close Quarters Marksmanship course, officers will be ready to attend our more advanced level courses:

  • Close Quarter Battle (CQB) Fundamentals 
  • Hostage Rescue/ Active Shooter Response

Who is this class designed for?

The course is designed for any sworn officer who wants to meet the demands of responding to a high-risk critical incident as well as be prepared to react to a close-quarters attack.

What are the course's gear requirements?

  • Service pistol and rifle with at least 3 magazines for each.
  • Proper fitting on belt pistol holster and 2 magazine pouches.
  • Proper fitting rifle sling and at least one on body magazine pouch. (3 recommended)
  • 600 rounds of pistol and 600 rounds rifle ammunition
  • Full wrap-around eye protection
  • Proper hearing protection
  • Knee pads (optional)
  • Simunition force on force face and eye protection mask
  • 50 rounds of Simunition ammo for pistol and rifle, each
  • Simmunition weapon conversion kits
  • Range chair (optional)
  • Gloves (optional)
  • Note-taking material
  • Weather appropriate gear
  • Food and drinks

Can anyone attend the class?

Only personnel who are currently employed by an LE Department in a sworn capacity and have completed an ILETSB-certified police academy to include firearms training will be permitted to attend this course.

What is your cancellation policy?

  • Full refund: 61 or more days from the class
  • 50% refund: Between 31 and 60 days from the class
  • No refund: Within 30 days of the class
  • Credits are not provided for missed classes
