Close Quarters Battle (CQB): Level 1

What is CQB 1?

The CQB Level 1 course is designed to teach the fundamentals of room entry and dynamic movement. You will be introduced to the same building block skills taught to our military and law enforcement during CQB training. Emphasis will be placed on the basic fundamentals and a firm understanding of tactics to build a solid base for more advanced training.

This is a pistol and rifle course, combining the use of dry-fire, live-fire, and non-lethal training rounds, so a solid working knowledge of both weapon systems is required. Each day will start on a live fire range and end in the shoothouse.

You will leave this course with a solid understanding of the principles of CQB and the individual tasks required when clearing rooms. This course gives you the foundation to progress to more advanced CQB skill sets: Home Defense, Active Shooter Response, and more.

What are the class's gear requirements?

  • Pistol and AR-15 rifle of your choice.
  • Plate carrier or chest rig with rifle mag pouches.
  • Battle belt with pistol holster and pistol mag pouches.
  • Sling (Single or Double Point)
  • At least 3 magazines for each firearm.
  • At least 250 rounds of ammo per firearm.
  • Comfortable clothing (long pants and sleeves are ideal)
  • Suitable footwear for movement and turning
  • Eye & Ear Protection
  • Force-on-Force Gear: mask (must have full-face and ear coverage at a minimum, i.e. paintball mask); neck protection; groin protection, and gloves)
  • Knee Pads (optional)
  • Portable chair/stool (optional)
  • Helmet (optional)
  • Sunscreen and a hat (optional, but we will spend a lot of time in the sun.)
  • Drinks and food.

Can anyone attend the class?

Students must know how to operate and manipulate their firearms safely and instinctively. If you find yourself consciously thinking about how to manipulate your firearm, more experience is required to take this class. This is NOT a brand-new shooter's class. Students must be at least 21 years old or 18+ with a legal guardian, and due to the Department of State ITAR regulations, tactical training is only available to US Citizens/Legal Residents.

What is your cancellation policy?

  • Full refund: 61 or more days from the class
  • 50% refund: Between 31 and 60 days from the class
  • No refund: Within 30 days of the class
  • Credits are NOT allowed for missed classes

The trainers, proctors, staff and participants were an awesome group of folks, training was VERY well covered, techniques enforced and all while keeping everyone safe, entertained an ensuring folks were committing the lessons to memory. I’d easily recommend the class to anyone interested in CQB or any class TacHyve might be hosting. REALLY enjoyed the class and will work on the techniques within my home of course safe with SIRT/ Mantis Blackbeard
